ATLAS Co., Ltd. was established at Chuo-ku, Chiba, Japan

Start of FSM implementation in pipes at thermal power plants

Agreement was made with CorrOcean, a Norwegian company, for an exclusive license of 

FSM technology(Field Signature Method)and the sole agency in Japan 

Monitoring study on corrosion in nuclear facilities by means of FSM was conducted with

Japan Atomic Energy Research Insititute (the present Japan Atomic Energy Agency)

With the support of Chiba Foundation for the Promotion of Industry,

ATLAS took part in the activities of Fujimi Business Incubate Center, a venture support

center of the Foundation

Start of FSM implementation in pipes of Japan’s gas fields

Start of FSM implementation at oil plant facilities
Joint development with Mitsubishi Chemical Co Ltd

‘Joint development to establish a technique to measure tank bottom plate thickness by applying FSM

Start of FSM implementation at nuclear power plants

Business tie-up was formed with Power Engineering and TrainingServices, Incorporated, a company of

the Chugoku Electric Power Group
Joint research with TOYOTA STEEL CENTER CO LTD

‘Research on the feasibility of FSM for fatigue crack monitoring in real cranes’

Joint research with JX Nippon Oil Energy Co., Ltd. for buried piping inspection

Obtained a joint patent with JX Nippon Oil Energy Co., Ltd. (currently ENEOS)

Joint research with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation and tank inspection

Obtained a joint patent with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (currently Nippon Steel)

Head office was moved to 2-2-15-6F Shiba, Minato-ku, Japan
